This is why it is pointless to do anything other than point out your apparent lack of an education.

No. You don't calibrate the markings.

If you think glass, "is a liquid which flows over time", then it really doesn't matter how far you went in school. If you're stuck on this little detail then how can you understand global warming?

correlate the readings of (an instrument) with those of a standard in order to check the instrument's accuracy.

If I ever embarrass myself as completely and humiliatingly as Munchie has embarrassed himself in this instance, someone please shoot me!!

That is your scientific response to ice core sampling and you being called out about 'ice melt' in a place whose highest recorded temp is 10 degrees!

Damn, did some Mexican free some of your asian sex slaves? Why you always Mexican hating? Originally Posted by WTF

Good thing your boys don't have the balls to shoot you.
And if they did, who would be our most "educated"
stupid guy? They don't use random instruments.
These aren't made in your garage.
And how many glasses have you had that changed shape? Stupid fucking douche-bag.
You don't know anything about the use or manufacturing process of instruments and you don't know shit about the scientific method.

In the real world of embarrassing moments, you just tasted the shit in your pants because you thought it was melted chocolate.
The idea I would accept technical or scientific specifications or information on your word without checking it out is never going to happen. Because you aren't that smart. Or like in this case, I don't need to.
Because you're completely wrong..and stupid. Too late to STFU on this subject but I bet you can dig deeper.

Oh, and please get the name of the place with the tarmac.
I looked for quite some time and couldn't find a single tarmac runway on the entire continent.
I can believe some of the intruemants were not always functioning but to record the temp all you need is a pencil and a thermometer. No moving parts.

You can't just use a pencil and paper and thermometer on those stations throughout Antarctica. The tarmac in the article was the only "year round" runaway in Antarctica at the time.
This isn't the link I remember but it shows problems with the Antarctic airport data.

I just saw a "Vice" on HBO about the ice melt in Antartica. I think it was a NASA aircraft,
a converted DC-9. Pretty sure all the larger non-military planes are all staged out of Chilie. All the airports on Antartica, as far as I could tell, were snow, ice, or gravel.
Any manned weather station is going to log the temperature on a regular basis. The pencil and thermometer comment means there are many components to a weather station. All of them may not be functioning at any given time. But a thermometer always works. On Antartica, the field people have competed for those jobs or they are filled by military personnel. They should be reliable enough to make standard log entries.

Bring your liquid glass back over here, dicksuckingklansman.

Fewer people might see your ignorance here.
