Another 50,000 men served in Vietnam between 1960 and 1964.

While you peruse the bullshit on theses posts ... ingest this:Thanks for the info. I'm not surprised. I figured the numbers were bloated by the trauma and emotion. I don't want to dismiss the loss. It was significant. But I'm also worn out by the fetishizing of the military. And the pussification of my love tunnel.
So what that means is roughly 11-12% of alleged "Vietnam Vets" actually "fought in combat, provided close support or were at least fairly regularly exposed to enemy attack."
And statistically less than 1/3 of those killed were draftees and only around 25% "in country" in Vietnam were draftees.
Selective Service (Draft) KIC = 17,672 out of Total KIC 58,193
There were statistics from the 2000 national census that something like 13 million people fraudulently claimed to have served "IN VIETNAM" (meaning "in country").
That stats as of 2000 (it would be even less today ... 16 years later) were that 80% of those claiming to be Vietnam Vets WERE NOT!
I know a few vets.In the 60's and 70's it wasn't "fashionable" to discuss one's military experience and status, unless, of course, like John Kerry, one was using their alleged military experiences and statuses to add "credibility" to their "anti-war" protesting.
I figured the numbers were bloated by the trauma and emotion.
