That was during the Viet Nam War. What city in Viet Nam did you first get stationed at?

I was stateside as well. Never “got” to go. Never fired a weapon at anytb8ng but a target. Pretty dang good shot, too.

Where were you stationed, Jim?

I know several ex-military people who are hard-core Trump supporters. Most military people lean to the right, most very strongly. I would hope that Hotrod is telling the truth when it comes to military service. I, for one, believe him. Originally Posted by SpeedRacerXXX

correction: French had theirs until early 1800's.

so, that leaves Copts & Ethopians. (yes Ethopians have a new year in september.) I looked it up.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Year

and it also includes Jews.

it appears I've missed this due to source being poorly written up. it says falls in Autumn which is a very generic way of saying it.

so you are jewish.

that said... I've never slandered a Jew here, at least not on purpose...

cite those claims of yours. otherwise I think you are just trolling. Originally Posted by dilbert firestorm

And let me test this because I don't think any of you have served
You are wrong about that.

There is no way a reasonable person would accept as their commander in chief someone as amoral and insulting of the military as Trump. No reasonable military personnel will accept a man who not only never served but took 5..count em 5 bullshit deferments.
Not true, on both counts. The vast majority of military men and women have a preference for one candidate or another, but their loyalty is to the country, not the person. The basic belief that the military is controlled by a civilian C-in-C is as old as the US--whether we like the person in the office or not. Originally Posted by Sistine Chapel

It also matters what issue--many are strongly Right on some issues, but also come from inner cities and poverty, and disagree with many of the issues like tax cuts for business/upper level earners, separating children from families.

The "military mind" is far less lock step these days.
