I'm jumping back to work quickly, but two aspects of Liberalism have contributed "substantially" to the "kids problem" in this country: (1) taking over the school systems in which "kids" spend the vast majority of their time in their formative years, and (2) the separate justice system created to address their disobedience, but actually instructs them that the criminal justice system doesn't work!

Yes, I actually gave Obama credit for pointing the need for missing/deadbeat parents to be involved and him suggesting "Dads" needed to step up and take responsibility and be involved in their children's lives. That a good core family is what was needed.

#1: There is a difference in standards. #2: the "search" is much different from a practical point of view. Both depend upon the reason for the initial stop and what occurred immediately after the initial stop.

They don't HAVE to have a search warrant to search his car, either.

The SCOTUS established an exception to the general rule long ago. The departures have been based primarily on the changes in the mobility of our society, which has to do with vehicles. Just like departures had to be made for electronic devices...phones etc.

You don't need a search warrant to search the vehicle.....at the scene of an arrest and/or incident involving someone driving the vehicle. Texas state cases recognize the cursory search of the MV for the officer's safety as well as the protection of property/evidence ....

Do you know how long it takes to get a search warrant from beginning to end (at least on the average) or have you ever been involved in any phase of the process .... we ain't talking TV shows!

Now ... if the driver is arrested (taken into custody) and transported to jail ... what is done with the vehicle .... by the police?
