I am aware that blacks were treated unfairly in the past, but there comes a time when you have to quit looking back.
In my estimation since the mid 60’s, blacks have been offered many opportunities to better themselves. Has it been perfect, no, it’s still a work in progress. But I will say this, I believe every black person born since 1970 has had social programs available providing an opportunity to better their lives. Many have taken advantage, but not enough.
There is still an element in the black community that only focuses on the past. There is no way we can create a better future for them without their own effort.
I have a friend who always complains about things, some current like his job or boss, some in the past like his ex wife and the alimony he had to pay her. After a while you tune him out, or try to avoid him all together. Unfortunately complaining about the past is way too common in the black community.
We are not responsible (current citizens) for what happened 70-80 years ago, but we have spent trillions of dollars trying to correct it
Maybe you can explain why the programs are not working better.
And we are at an impasse. Don't give up. Don't ever give up. I hope to change your mind.
Help yourself to American History. It's all in there.
