If a former squadron commander and combat veteran who wants to be in charge of the entire Defense Department can’t even put his own ribbons in the right order (literally the first thing every midshipman and ensign learns in five minutes), that’s not “nitpicking,” that’s a glaring red flag about attention to detail and respect for the system he swore to uphold.
