it may have been a (60) super majority on paper but given the fact Kennedy and Byrd were too ill to vote, back to 58. Take into consideration not every single dem voted along party lines either.

The fact is that they didn't eliminate the subsidies because they DIDN'T WANT TO eliminate the subsidies. They can rant all they want, but if they actually did anything, their gravy train would run out. It's all about money and control. Everything else is for show.
