Yes Jack but volunteer does not equate to no need of training or oversite. I have been a volunteer fireman and paramedic for 30 years. God help our community if we didn't receive the proper training required to do our job. And over 30 years I have seen many come and go because they wern't willing to put in the time. Volunteer is no excuse when a job is done poorly.

Why would anyone in their right mind want to be a mod anyways?

Bush. The point isn't what training is required. The point is if someone volunteers to do something then they should do the job as required. (Which most of the mods do). My point is if the person decides for whatever reason they can't or don't want to do the job the way it should be done then resign. But someone shouldn't complain that "I am a volunteer. What do you expect?" Expect them to do the job. That is the great advantage to being a volunteer. Resigning has no bearing on their livelihood. Free to leave whenever.

THIS is why I appreciate Jack's efforts

And that being said ... the training to be a MOD is extensive ... I think ... no thats right it is a VOLUNTEER GIG and reviewing the guidelines is part one of that training and part two is remembering that WE were, and still are, part of the community.

SO Slack is given, and when the shit/nonsense gets to intense we have to act!

The process goes ... for the upteenth time: warning, PM warning, Official warning of infraction (1 point), Violation (with Points), repeated Violation and points, Temporary ban, if violations within that time, extended ban, continued infractions when back further violations/potential ban ... and then of course the ultimate permanent Ban ....

Or something like that! But as an UNTRAINED VOLUNTEER ... I'll double check the 'how-to' handbook

Thanks folks for your support and understanding!

One of the advantages of being the REALLY BAD MOD is that ... Nope ... its just what I do and who I like to be ... my 'persona nongratta'!

I used that term, not in a negative way, but as a sign of appreciation for volunteers doing their best without a lot of support and under constant provocation. Originally Posted by jackfengshui

I'm sorry i haven't had any time to read this or reply to this thread or all the pms. I'm on tour and can't keep up with it.
Thank you for all of the support. I'm not a complete victim, i do fight back.
Many busy bodies are frothing at the mouth to know how many points I've gotten. This point from gp was my 3rd. I deserve them all.
What is seen on the board is only the very tip of the iceburgh, I've made comments about the emails before. I didn't even have to get on here to know about the Ban, i could tell from the rambling emails sent one right after the other pretty much on par with what was said to gp in this thread.
Don't try to book me through Yahoo, I have it set up to pretty much spam and delete anything from non contacts.
I'm getting a lot of messages about wny travels due to this thread and all the attention. Once I'm back from Ohio i will update my signature line and site. Thank you.

CD,

I appreciate that! But please know that when I masturbate, YOU are the last thing I am thinking about!

But thanks for sharing!
