Check 1,2. Is this mic on?
I registered on ASPD in March of 1996 [no,that's not a typo], back when there was very little SA online activity. I think Whispers was the only other active SA hobbyist around at that time. The only local lady who had her own website was a green-eyed lass who liked Greek. Damn if I can recall her name, Dawn maybe? But because I had an active social and professional life, I always minimized my exposure locally and flew UTR choosing to see mostly traveling ladies, play when I traveled for business or would play in Austin, Houston or Dallas. I still miss the Amazing girls from H-town [Courtney, Darcie and Heidi were once in a lifetime beauties] and was head over heels with Dallas' Energizer Bunny and Tabitha Toy. God, I would have been bankrupt if any of them lived in SA. I had SA favorites too including Raquel, Azaleah, Alluring Jen, Alexis/Buttman's Dream, Allie and a couple of currents who I haven't seen in a long, too long, time.
I've always been paranoid about discretion and privacy and for that reason, never attended socials, saw very many local ladies nor shared many posts. In the beginning I did post quite a few reviews and even earned many attaboys for my prose. But I eventually questioned the wisdom of posting my adventures because, just as we tell our teenagers today, be careful what you post on the internet because once it's out there, it's out there forever. And I knew that some day, as technology increased, anonymity could never be truly guaranteed. Even now, I am at odds about sharing this, my first post here on ECCIE and am kind of glad my old ASPD history is largely lost.
In my early days, the SA board was practically non-existent and the Austin forum was the closest one active. Austin is also where I got my start in the hobby. I agreed to run the Austin half-marathon with a friend that year and despite any real training, I kept my word and ran it. That evening after the run, I was one big leg cramp and could barely get in my car let alone drive all the way back home to SA. My friend suggested I get a massage first and not knowing any better, I blindly called up an RMT who advertised on the back page of the Austin Chronicle. She quoted $100 which I thought was steep but naively assumed that was the premium for a Sunday evening, last minute appointment. Suffice it to say, while the sports massage was decent to OK at best, I completely wasn't expecting the extracurriculars! And my naive innocence only added to the mutual enjoyment of our experience- she enjoyed breaking in a clueless hobby virgin [after our session she told me all about the adult service provider world] and I, well, I was left feeling pretty damn happy having forgotten all about the day's run.
When I got back to SA I was dumbfounded at the underground scene I had stumbled upon and started looking it up online. There was Delphi, Big Dawgy and TER but they all wanted paid memberships and I wasn't about to create that paper trail. I soon found ASPD a week or two later and save for a couple of hiatuses for a brief marriage and two failed longterm relationships [6 years combined], the rest is largely and thankfully undocumented history.
I'll end by saying I have never run another half marathon or even 5k. But to echo Kuhlarrow, it's crazy to think back on how much money I've spent hobbying since 1996. But as the saying goes, for everything else there's Mastercard.

Due mainly to the butthurt actions of a *hobbyist*. Originally Posted by Precious_b
