Tony Romo had a great game and so did everyone else. 3-1
My boys did great.
It's undeniable....the Cowboy's defense is better (than the last couple of seasons)....and that in itself makes a huge difference per the game planning and play calling on the offensive side of the ball. No need to make mention of the O-line (whoops, I did, I suppose)....that group is exceptional and is dominating front sevens so far.

When your team can rush (for almost 200 yds) and the defense gets turn overs, defensive stops, Tony Romo is a much better qb in all areas. He's not required to throw the ball 40 - 50 times during the game....the ground game moves the sticks and keeps the clock running....and play-action plays are so much more effective: wide open receivers catching the ball AND getting YAC.

It's a winning formula.....it works in Pop Warner ball....high school....juco....Division One....and most definitely in the NFL.

The defense gave up a lot of points to a Rams offense that was starting their third string quarterback and he lit them up for over 300 yards. Brees did as well, but mainly out of necessity because of playing from behind.

I think as long as the Cowboys have a large differential in time of possession in their favor and do not turn the ball over, they are going to be tough to beat and we will see an above .500 year this time. As far as playoffs are concerned, it depends on how well they do against the division and to at least win a game or two, they have to get better in the secondary.

I can't wait until the Saints get here. I hope Drew is healthy. Cowboy fans will get to see Rex Ryan on the sidelines again. Brought the Saints from worst defense to 4th best in one year. Makes you wonder what happened in Dallas. Doesn't look like he was the problem. Originally Posted by OldLRRP

"Who are those guys"
Last Sunday evening began the part of the Cowboys' schedule where they will be playing 5 of 6 at home (the lone roady: @ Seattle....never a fun place to visit). No many teams get stretches like that during an NFL season....when presented as such, one must take advantage of the "home cookin"...

New Orleans turned into a bit of a surprise to most pundits and fans (c'mon....most of us thought Brees & Co would come in here and duplicate last year's performance, right?) This Sunday's game brings cross-state rival, the Houston Texans, who also boasts a 3-1 record.

Ask most fans of the Texans and they'll tell you that record is a mirage.....and most expect Houston to get mashed by Dallas' O-line and running game. They're hoping Dallas implodes like they did vs the Niners. Let's keep the fingers crossed this is not the case.

Once the Cowboys return from their trip to the Great Northwest, they have 3 more weeks at home:

Oct 19......NY Giants
Oct 27......Washington (Mon Night Football)
Nov 2........Arizona

Then they take an overseas trip (London) to play the defense-less, Jacksonville Jaguars, Nov 9. Then Week 11, a timely BYE.

Not about to make any predictions on the aforementioned 5 games since each game, each team has too many variables from week-to-week. But by the time they return to action (at the NY Giants, Nov 23) the Cowboys could be sitting in a great spot.....IF they do what they need to do during this run.

For the record, the month prior to Dallas' game at NY, the Giants have this run of games:

@ Dallas
Indianapolis (Mon Night)
@ Seattle
San Francisco

Looks like fun, huh?

Philly's schedule is much more manageable....no need to list it, take my word for it. That said, if the Cowboys have any notions of winning the NFC East, this current part of their schedule is where they need to make hay and stack the W's. The December games will be extremely challenging especially if they need to go 4-0 to make the playoffs.

Last game of the season? At Washington.

Sound familiar?
How about that overtime catch by Dez to set up Big Dan Bailey's winning FG? Sweet.

Drew Pearson was dependable....and Michael Irvin was money in the bank.....but this number 88 is something special.

Nice win for the Boys.....4-1 and heading to Seattle next week. Can DeMarco make it six games in a row (over 100 yds rushing)?

That was a sphincter pinching game but the Boys persevered and came through....
It sure looks like they got the right formula. A balanced offense and a good scheme on defense. DeMarco Murray really has done well so far. They key is he has to stay healthy.

I guess the big test will be next week at Seattle. They actually will have a chance next Sunday as long as there are no turnovers.

Nice start but the season still has a long ways to go.

FUCK YA!!!!!!!!

How bout dem Dallas Football Cowboys!!
Going to be a tough game next week...We needed this win! I think all the NFC East teams won this week and I don't think the Cowboys will fare very well up there in Seattle. If i had to bet cash...I'd go with Seattle at home but since I'm not, I'm pulling for the boys.

If Denver couldn't beat the Seahawks (twice), the Cowboys sure in the fuck ain't gonna do it. Sorry folks...and in Seattle? LMAO!
