Hagglers - what is it they really want?

Guys who insist on seeing upper-scale providers but want to pay "market rate" - a bit of Platinum Penis Syndrome if you ask me... Or would that fall under option 6 in Your scale, Fancy? Originally Posted by Johanna

I don't sit there and say "Well I get 350 in Boston so PHOOEY on anyone in Dallas who won't pay that because I AM WORTH IT". That logic is faulty at its very core. Originally Posted by GracePreston

No no.. you confuse worth vs. ability when you go there. A woman can be "worth" whatever she chooses... doesn't mean she'll get that much. I'm a helluva lot more unique in some cities than I am in Dallas. Has no bearing on my "worth".. but it has a ton of bearing on what rate I can easily command.

Here's another way to look at it.

In any given week-- I need to make xxx amount of dollars in order to cover my bills and put a set amount into savings. Lets say I've never been to this place before and I guesstimate what I can command based on the local market and my prior experience. If my phone rings off the hook at that rate, then I've likely priced myself a little too low. If my phone does not ring at all, then clearly I've somehow priced myself out of range. The trick is to find the sweet spot between the two where you can meet your goals without getting burned out-- no need to tie any self esteem or self worth into the equation. If you rely on random guys for either-- you've got way bigger issues than hagglers on a SHMB.

One shouldn't necessarily charge what the locals charge. Your girl Val is a good example. She brings something unique to the market and can command a higher rate because of it. Likewise, there are some areas where I am very unique, and as a result, I can charge more than the normal rate. There are so many more factors in pricing than what a girl feels she is "worth".
I can't answer that civilasstard because you won't find a racist bone in my body.

Every job has its problems. If a guy haggling with you is the worst of it, count yourselves lucky. All you ladies have to do is hang up or ignore the pm.

I'm willing to admit that maybe I was wrong, I agree that an upscale provider shouldn't have to lower her rates because that's what the market calls for. In this case however, the young lady, (I don't like calling her a hooker), this young lady was seeking advise. I responded by telling her what usually happens when new faces show up with a high price tag. I even told her, by her looks she could probably pull it off. I've been in PMs with her throughout the morning, and have found out she's on TOB as Eccie its not as popular up there. She's visiting with a friend to help cut down expenses, and is considering reducing her rate a little to attract a few more 'tards. Poor thing. Still more than your typical newbie, but not completely out of reach. I generally see, 250-300hr girls, many have moved up but I'm fortunately grandfathered. $350 is not out of the question for me, but being fairly new, I still have a long 'to do list'. I have been approached more than a few times, which is very flattering, but only makes 'the list' longer... Big problems huh? LoL...
Ignore, ahhhh yes.
The sound of silence.

Again...if you're trying to make it sound like you're not telling providers here that they should modify their rate based on what the hobbyists want to pay, you're failing...in an epic way...
