Discounts v. Tips v. Rates

You sure like quoting me don't ya Charles? In all my years of tending bar and waitressing I have encountered just the opposite. I tip 30 percent min. when I go to a restaurant and at least 10 per 3 drinks at a bar...of course if you are a woman who has never had to depend on tips, you probably don't tip very well. My best tip by far as an escort was from a woman and it was a grand. Most women tip male strippers much better than guys tipping the female version....that's a fact!

It was not until I learned what it was like to depend on them, that I changed my way of thinking and started tipping more. The girl at Sonic now gets at least 5 bucks even if all I order is a 2 dollar slushie.

As for the hobby, I set my rates to include a tip....anything above that I prefer you write a check to a charity on my page. I don't expect anything, but let me tell you how nice it is to see an extra $50 or $100 in that envelope when you are NOT thinking it's going to be there.

As for discounts...only for Military and guys driving more than an hour to see me, and that's never off my min. I normally offer the 90 min. rate for the hourly, but don't ever mess with my bottom line.
Lol. Bring me a $50 Books-A-Million gift card and I'll give ya an extra half-hour

Dear Abby,

You obviously have made these gentlemen extremely happy, to the extent they desired to give you generous tips. And you then have decided to pay it forward to the coffee guy and the waitress earning crap and the pregnant woman working the window. You are an honorable and stellar person. I know I am humbled by your actions as I am sure others here are too. I know I will rethink how I tip or treat others when I have received a nice fee for me services rendered so that I may pay it forward. I hope others will do the same.

I was in a grocery store today and met a peer/competitor. I introduced my wife and we talked with us asking each other how things were. She revealed that her daughter suffers from epileptic seizures. My wife has a medical background so they ended up talking a bunch. My friend had said that they have been dealing her issues for 15 years and this Thanksgiving for some reason the daughter had been worse than others. She dealt with the daughter and thanksgiving meal preparations with trepidation. And did this with her head held high and she said others go through worse. It blew me away. She probably need someone (us) to listen and let her get it out. We hugged her at the end. As they say there but for the 'grace of God go I.' Never forget how lucky we all are (on eccie).

So Abby, more power to you. Though we may never meet (you're officially on my bucket list now), I am so happy you posted here.

Warmly,

Not to be a nitpicker or anything, but this thread was 30 days old.

Oh hell....now I forgot what this thread was about lol.
I charge $300 and I feel that a woman that charges this amount should not get tipped; she is being paid to go above and beyond. A $300 escort should be renting a nice hotel, have candles laid out, dressed in lingerie & heels, have her hair and make up done, have soft music playing in the background, she should perform excellent customer service and cater, cater, cater. That is her job description. $300 is a lot of money, you do not need to tip.

My clients always tip me and I don't understand it. Last week someone left $400 and I texted him with "Hey you left $100 extra, take it off your next visit." Which he declined to do. 2 weeks ago someone left $500 for the same reason. You guys are crazy, Lol. Dropping that much money on one hour of time, I love you, but you're crazy. haha!

I went from being a waitress at Steak N Shake busting my ass on a busy Friday night to earn $100. So yea, I make ~$120k a year now with this job... so I'm very generous with tipping when a tip should be given; Pizza delivery people always get $10. Waitresses get around 40% unless they SUCK then they get a lot less; I tip drive-thru people when they are super nice. I love love love making them feel good. One guy started crying, I kid you not, when I gave him $20.

During Christmas I always give bigger tips than I normally give. Last week I tipped a pregnant lady at a drive-thru $100. I got that from my mom because she always does that kind of stuff too. Try it, it gives you an awesome high! Originally Posted by AbbyAmour

Uh I will take her tips lol. I feel good service deserves a tip, but never expect it. I set my rates to include that, but I don't feel any rate is too high for some kind of appreciation even if it's not cash.
