Marriage was supposed to be, a means to keep wealth in families. Men fucked their wives, but loved their mistresses. No one thought of men being "faithful" until the 1500s when syphilis ravaged Europe. You were faithful then or you risked death. The whole concept of marriage for love is new, and there are a lot of people pushing the whole happily ever after concept raking in the dough, but when you really peel back the blinds, there aren't that many happy couples.

I was talking to a girl from Poland who grew up poor. They shared and played as a group together because maybe one kid in a neighborhood had a ball. Now in this country, every kid has multiple balls. People need fewer people due to our prosperity, and that includes man and wife.

Every conversation was swayed to be about the child, and every conversation was an attempt to blame his condition, later diagnosed as autism, on me. After my son, I was looked at as a punching bag, ATM machine, and sperm donor in that order.

I think part of the reason my marriage failed is that I didn't discipline the ex, and I have since taught other men how to discipline their wives compassionately. It was easier to see other women than discipline her.
