Probably since Clinton "the polls" have had a bias in them based upon folks not wanting to "admit" they are going to vote for whomever the pollster doesn't support ... and it became particularly biased during the 2008 and 2012 elections when the voter saying he or she would vote for anyone opposed to Obaminable would get labeled a "racist" .... and that's the card used in 2016 .... but it's been worn out.

Based on a statement by eccielover I went back and looked at polls done just prior to the 2016 election. Trump led in Michigan. He was within the margin of error in Pennsylvania. Only in Wisconsin was the polling incorrect, slightly outside the margin of error. I thought all 3 states would vote for Clinton. My mistake, but my belief was obviously NOT based on polls.

Pollsters do NOT support candidates. I'm sure many Trump supporters feel that way when Trump's approval rate and lack of support in other polls is horrible.

I doubt you will take the time to read the following article but it will explain that the polling results in 2016 were not that far off from the average of such polls.
