If Tariffman truly wanted to save Christmas he'd roll back his tariffs

President Trump just reiterated that the income tax could be ELIMINATED in the near future because of the tariffs. There is a difference between disagreement and disbelief. I'm in the latter camp. But essentially aren't we calling tariffs what they are, consumption taxes. Lots of countries use this - but the US doesn't because it disproportionately hurts the people who spend the majority of their money on day-to-day items versus the wealthy who get a pass, since no billionaire is going to spend a billion dollars on consumption. But Joe The barbers certainly going to spend his 50 Grand per year at a rate of 100%
“I believe that at some point in the not too distant future, you won’t even have income tax to pay because the money we’re taking in is so great. It’s so enormous that you’re not gonna have income tax to pay.”
Who can disagree with this? Who wants to keep giving half their money to the government?
Mr Gristle disagrees!!!!![]()
