What If Trump Is Not Elected?

Whether People who refuse to knuckle under to autocratic and authoritarian State governors will have a "second wave" with more case mortality - predictions are just that - foretelling the future - and comparable to the Imperial College predictions of "Ferguson" i believe - of millions of fatalities.

A grossly incorrect model.

Thanks - but I m no prophet - just a person recognizing that people are fed up with House arrest and forced social separating measures for a virus that is widely perceived as to not be nearly as deadly as the "authorities ' desire.

Wuhan has an Ro close to that of Influenza A- and a higher (maybe) case mortality rate published in the papers - but the real asymptomatic /minimally symptomatic infected number for denominator of case mortality is unknown - and likely higher than perceived.

The Wuhan virus is going through the population regardless - "social separation" measures will slow the spread - some maybe - but the ultimate infection rate can only be stemmed by herd immunity.

Vaccine is likely next year at best. Dexamethasone does help Conservatives with severe disease - Liberal patients are advised not to take the drug by LSM because Trump mentioned it. Don't want any Trump cooties - now do we Liberals???

Providing a safe shelter for those who are at risk - elderly pre-existing conditions, immune deficiency disease - should be the priority. Let other folks shelter is they wish - let's open the economy and not let the cure be worse than the disease - Which the result devoutly to be desired by Governors Gruesome, cuomo, Whitmer, and others.

What is the viral inoculum required to create infection in a person - unknown. masks may help prevent exposure of people in close proximity to an infected and viral shedding individual. How much protection - unknown.

Only death rates will be much higher. If this actually happens, and I hope and pray it doesn't, then admittedly your solution of protecting those at risk and have others go about their lives as normal makes sense, even though you never get to herd immunity.

Otherwise, as you know, we strongly disagree on which path would lead to a stronger economy and better public health outcomes. The way it's playing out in Texas, or at least where I live, is pretty much along the lines you favor.

Tiny - the issue with your thoughts is that corona viruses are extremely mutable - and change their immunologic profile quite rapidly - which means we have been unable to formulate a vaccine for the common cold - due the the virus changing its immune profile every time a vaccine is formulated - it is then not useful.

Influenza a also is mutable - but not to the same degree - and that is why some year's vaccines are less effective - vaccine makers are targeting a immune profile up to two years in advance - and the virus mutates away from the targets.

Antibodies disappearing from patients previously infected - not well understood issue - and are people who previously had Wuhan virus infection at risk for new infection - the Wuhan virus does mutate - and there are several strains out there.

an issue not well understood - if a patient with previous infection may be susceptible to a new infection from a different strain. of virus .

definitely research territory. if the libDems will allow money from OBLM reparations to be used for medical research.

regardless there won't be a mass shutdown next year. it was an overreaction this time however there was no prior knowledge base for this new strain and considering that China intentionally let it spread worldwide for weeks at the least (probably more like 2 months) Trump took a hard stance on it. he had no other choice at that point.

now we know more about this bat soup virus. we know Andy Cuomo was stupid to force these exposed patients into nursing homes. the idiot exposed the most vulnerable group to the very virus he should have isolated them from.

we know Fauci was wrong at every turn and if Trump had listened to him it would have been worse. Trump didn't and of course the leftie press hailed flatulent Fauci .. until he was proven wrong then they made up excuses for him. this of course is assuming Fauci doesn't have an agenda behind his "false" statements. for now we'll just assume he's an idiot.

we also know now that standard practice for use of ventilators in typical respiratory cases don't apply to this virus. patients do need oxygen but not under pressure like other types of cases. high pressure isn't needed and in fact made it worse. you could just use oxygen masks and tubes for help breathing.

the world is not going to shutdown again next year or even this fall. we'll just shutdown China and let them suffer.

Tiny - I do not have good answers to good questions.

Questions that medical researchers are looking at - but have no data on such patient situations to provide an answer.

with most viral infections - immunity to the virus is long-lasting - but not forever. vaccine immunity can wane over time - and is an individual immune response.

Question 2 - a person might be susceptible to a mutated and altered coronavirus in the next season after - when the new strain pops up. How susceptible - some cross-antibody immune response is possible. It all dep0neds on how the virus mutates and how immune systems respond to a new virus strain.

I have no answers - or even an approximation of an answer to Two Good questions.;

You might make a good medical students with your questions!

Those that ignore history are bound to repeat it, or something like that. The main reason the Demonicrats want to rewrite history on BLM is their abysmal record on it. Their cities are burning. However, we do still reside in the age of the internet and some history lessons are still actually available.

In these trying times one needs to keep their sense of humor in tact so as not to be overwhelmed with lie upon lie, upon lie from a corrupt news media, which is no longer the Fourth Estate, but instead a Ministry of Propaganda or Bureau of Brainwashing or Department of Dunces. Here is the historical record from said Department of Dunces on Trump's inability to get elected.
