So Iran said they were going to attack the base on Qatar, so the attack was all for show trying to keep in power.


I think if there is enough support from outside sources, I think the Iranian people would actually over through their current government as they have been horrible for the most Iranians.

what hardliners outside of Iran are going to take the US action as a call to arms? no one because most of the region doesn't want Iran to have a nuclear weapon.

Anyone that believes there’s a coming peace in the Middle East because of any recent actions either 1) hasn’t been paying attention or 2) is very naive. I was there in December 1990. That’s 34 years ago. The attitude of those people hasn’t changed in any real way. When countries don’t bend to the political whims of the public and have to worry about elections, they tend to play a very long game. Israel has degraded Iran for now, but that’ll just make the terroristic elements more likely to take actions.

The real question is whether Iran will be able to get North Korea, Pakistan or Russia to provide them some support in advancing their nuclear dreams. If they were, in fact, weeks away from having the fully enriched uranium, and we’ve no clue where that material is, it could be getting worked up elsewhere right now.

The non-aggressive approach of Obama versus what donny just did definitely had different results. At least with Obama there would be observers onsite with electronic oversight seeing what is happening. They'd have to ramp up a whole separate nuclear industry to try and hide any illicit dealings. So far, that has not been shown to have happened while we had people there.

We have this representative body called Congress that is supposed to represent the will of the people. If Congress offers up a Declaration of War to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon which may very likely be used to kill millions of Americans and it passes...well that how you deal with the nukes. It would scare me if Congress would do that. The only other time i'd think that this country would use a nuke was in Korea. Old Mac wanted to plow the China border with radioactive waste from bombing. The one thing I agree with him if he did that is that it wouldn't have been a half ass war (can't bomb half a bridge.)
