Tiny, i don't disagree with a single thing you said..I've read two biographies on Trump's pre-presidential days and have been business partners with two people who are like Trump. Based on that here's my take.
so wtf is wrong with our mad king..
not one single proposal you made which isn't 100% attainable without changing one. damn. thing. today.
military expansion? check.
minerals exploration? check.
rare earths? check.
profit sharing? check.
cutting off Russia and China at the Arctic pass? check.
strengthening NATO? check.
bringing the world's greatest military to impose its will on a future hotspot? check.
letting the Netherlands continue to pay for the Greenlandic dole that we can't afford? check.
saving the U.S. Treasury from more unsustainable debt? check.
avoiding investing real (borrowed) money today in a payoff that's likely hundreds of years in the future at best? check.
but our fragile ego-ed narcissistic orange man child is surrendering everything...for absolutely nothing in return that we don't already have..
i think a clearly impeachable offense, under the High Crimes and Misdemeanors standard, due to violating international law, attacking a treaty ally, and far exceeding presidential power under the U.S. Constitution..
among other things, Congress declares war, not the president..
3rd time's the charm. Trump's luck will finally run out, i predict..
so Trump can go hat in hand in supplication to Congress to see if they support..sheer madness. fat chance of that..
and, the Dow tumbles while Canada signs trade deals with China, yields on the 10 year t-bill spiked, and the U.S. greenback tumbles..again. this is what happens when Captain Ahab is at the helm..

Trump has practiced "2". Trump's formative years in business were spent negotiating with New York cement companies and taking advice from Roy Cohn. He's just applying lessons from being a successful "Type 2" businessman to the world stage, in trying to acquire Greenland.
And it's about his legacy too. From today's NYT,
In an interview with The New York Times this month, he framed it in terms of personal desire. Asked why ownership was important instead of just fortifying Greenland, he said, “Because that’s what I feel is psychologically needed for success.” Asked if he meant psychologically important for himself or psychologically important for the country, he said, “Psychologically important for me.”
“I said, ‘Why don’t we have that?’” he explained in a 2021 interview for the book “The Divider” about his first term. “You take a look at a map. I’m a real estate developer, I look at a corner, I say, ‘I’ve got to get that store for the building that I’m building,’ etc. It’s not that different. I love maps. And I always said: ‘Look at the size of this. It’s massive. That should be part of the United States.’”

Here's an analogy. In this story, Donald Trump is Elon Musk, I'm Denmark, and the sugarbaby is Greenland.
I've got a sugarbaby. She's hot as hell. Elon Musk wants the same gal. But she's "in love" with me. So Elon's got two choices. He can send his goons around and threaten to beat the hell out of me if I don't give her up. Or he can offer her a Ferrari, a credit card with a $100,000/month limit and a 3 bedroom condo in downtown Austin. Which is chump change for Elon.
Elon decides he's going to send the goons around, then make the offer to the girl. This is what Trump is doing. You or I would have hit her up with the car, the card and the condo. But we're "Type 1" businessmen and Trump's a Type 2.
