these seem good, especially for things we want not on our phone bill.

but, they appear not to work on prepaid phones.

what say you people?

Using prepaid and a 3rd party app like that together seem a bit superfluous, especially just to keep things off the phone bill, but that's just me. I'm not married/have an SO, so the only people that see my activity are myself, carrier and NSA. I guess if you do want to sneak around better safe than sorry though.

I say google voice solves all your problems. I use the GVphone app for android no records on phone bill no problem.

And I agree, why the redundancy of a prepaid phone plus a third party app?

i don't use a prepaid phone, but some ladies do. i'm just saying if someone did want to use an app, they wouldn't be able to contact those people that way.

Using GV does show up on the Call Detail Records of your phone plan. The number you were dialing does not show and the number that is dialing the GV # does not show.

In other words, every time GV is used for outgoing/incoming calls/texts etc., it will show up on the Call Detail.

This is important for some; not important for others.

Make sure and read the details for each of these apps as it applies to your own situation; review how it interacts with your phone-plan Call Detail Records, records on the account you set up, etc.

Not giving a Yea or Nay, just a reminder to read about the App and how it may impact on your individual situation.

I have no input as it relates to pre-paid phones.

I guess I should gave gone into more detail. The Google Voice app for android tries to piggyback on top of your phone and can't be easily hidden or turned off and on easily.

Get a google voice phone number, use a third party app to interface with it, problem solved

There was a discussion about this awhile back in the houston men's lounge. Here's a link to my post illustrating that on Verizon at least with Android using the GVphone app there is no trace.
