They put a color-coded wrist band on you.
GREY was if you wanted to go upstairs.
Green was if you wanted to go inside of the vendor room.

We registered, and walked into the hot, small crowded room and looked at the over-priced pervertables.

Hardly worth the bother of trying to find a place to park in a crowded parking lot , and past the cigarette smoke clouds hovering outside of the entrance at the back of the hotel past the bikers and middle-aged,worn out, nose-ringed, tattooed, grey-haired hippie types.

Also the bands identified you as someone who is authorized to enter the vendor room, or someone who has registered for the conference and is allowed into the classrooms. It's been working that way for the past decade - except for the vendor room wristbands. That's only been around for like the past 3-4 years.
They usually give an option for a 'play name' when you register and are usually discreet and quiet about real name/real info.

Kinky College - register w/license. ID badge was printed with name of your choice. No issue as 99% of the attendees want to be known under their nick and really don't care what your real world identity is. Sort of a piss on Clark kent, we want Superman' mentality.

(yeah, I have more to report on Kinky College)

Bump.

This event is coming up next weekend. Who's going?

Elisabeth

P.S. babee. You never did report about Kink Kollege! grin.
Thinking about the Vendor Fair on Sat... Anyone game?

PPE
I shall be there on Saturday. At the vendor fair at least.

Well, I've been excited about it for months. But at the $150 price tag to get in plus food and well ... a little bit of going nuts in the vending area, which I always do, I've decided to put off going this year.

I sincerely don't wish to blow all of that money on an event right now.

Might go to the vendor area, though. Those are always so frigging great compared to regular sex shops.

Went to the vendor section this morning. Was very surprised.

It was probably three times smaller than the one at kink kollege. The vendor area at Beyond Vanilla was easily at least twice as big.

I'm guessing that this group is pretty hard core and have much of what they need already!

I didn't see anything unique to speak of. There were a few of the same vendors there that I had already seen in Dallas and Chicago.

Since classes were going on, I didn't see anyone much mulling around. Polite crowd, though.

Elisabeth
Yeah, the vendor area is small. The hotel doesn't have a ton of space, so they cram the vendors into the downstair meeting room. It would be nice if they had a larger area to play in, but at least the hotel is ok with the event.

I noticed that this year maybe half of the vendors were local. In the past I've seen vendors from as far away as GA attend. But I suppose with the limited space there isn't much they can do about that. Still, if you were looking for gear there was enough to keep you interested.
