Wow just saw news that Whitney Houston is dead at 48 years old! Cause of death unknown
Maybe it wasn't the immediate cause of her death, but I'm sure that years of drug abuse was a significant contributor.
I loved that lady....Great singer..

Best rendition of the National Anthem I have ever heard was sung by her before Super Bowl XXV in 1991.
Here it is...

So sad to hear of her passing today.
Certainly not what I was expecting to hear on the news today.
Had to sit back and collect my thoughts for a while.

RIP Whitney.

I'm not heartless, as I've dealt with many folks who've had drug problems. But, with all her money and support system, rehab was at her fingertips at all times. She should've surrounded herself with people who lifted her up instead of bringing her down and keep feeding her drugs.

All the money, friends, etc., can't save someone from themselves. She was going to continue with her behavior until she decided it was time to change her life. You can't do it for anyone else or any other reason but to make yourself well and save your life. It's unfortunate but more don't get better than those that do.

I understand peoples different perspective on this, so I can only speak for myself. This death really saddens me. Such a beautiful woman with a golden voice. I'm not going to get into why she died, and if she brought it on herself.

Personally, I think she was the greatest female singer of our time, and one of the best ever. I know Dolly wrote this song, and performed it damn good back in the day...but Whitney singing this song, wow, just doesn't get any better than this.

R.I.P. Whitney, you were a true beauty and will be missed.

It is a sad situation..still, I refuse to mourn celebs who have had 0 impact on my life and chose to to self destruct. They are surrounded by an entourage paid to look out for their best interest, yet they destroy themselves anyway, agains any advice and guidance they receive.
