***** WARNING****** ECCIE HAS BEEN HACKED, IRL INFO IS OUT, ******WARNING ******

OldFloridaDude's Avatar
I was just emailed an alphabetical list containing all your names and emails.

I know the list is legit because my name and my business email that I used to join here is listed along with 2 other people I know IRL.

My info that is on this list has NEVER been given out to anyone anywhere tied to this hobby, except to register here.

The email says it was sent by a well known provider that I have never met.

I stripped the header and found her email was spoofed, she did not send out this list.

AGAIN, THE PROVIDER DID NOT DO THIS

I just called the provider listed as the sender and left her a voicemail about this.

She may think I'm nuts or pulling a prank … But if she chooses to get back to me I will take a screen shot of what I was sent to prove what I have just typed is true.

In the voice mail to her I stated I was going to post this warning here. She can join in if she chooses to.

I will not discuss this with anyone but her, I will not give out your IRL info, I will not answer PM's about this, I will not give out her info. I will not give out anything to anybody.

I do not care if they claim to be with eccie , I do not care if they claim to be the fucking Pope at this point...

I will only discuss this in this thread following forum rules.

Problem is..... who else was sent this list ?

I just checked my hobby email and there is a spoof inbox mail from a local provider in there. It was a lengthy message but this is an excerpt from it

Upon enrollment in the VIP Membership Program, if you do not make a purchase or log into your account to 'Skip The Month' between the 1st and 5th of the month, your credit card will be charged $39.95 for a member credit on the 6th until you cancel. You may cancel at any time by calling 1-866-337-0906. Returns requesting a refund are subject to a $5.95 restocking fee.

Well the provider who was spoofed on it never got back to me so she probably figured it was a crack pot leaving a message.

I've never met her, I got her number from a review... so she dont know me from Adam. ...

PS: the list does not have user names, it is real names and matching real email addy.

So other than mine and the 2 people I know IRL, I can not tell you if you are on it as I do not know what user name goes with what real name. And I dont want to know.

QUESTION FOR ANY MODS OR ADMIN : DO YOU HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE OR REPORTS OF YOUR SYTEM OR DATBASE BEING COMPROMISED ?

Can post her eccie handle.

This way people will know it is spoofed if they are approaced about it.

I'm not posting anything.

I left a voicemail, I mentioned I was going to start this thread.

If she wants to join in, or not, it is her decision.

It wasnt just hobby tards names and emails, there are providers on there as well.

I'm waiting to see if there is a reply to my mod admin question that is in all caps above.
I checked my hobby email and do not have any emails like yours. It would suck for eccie to have an Ashley madison style hack.
I had a dream that I received a “spam” like email as well to my hobby email. And as OFD eludes; there were several recipients that were included, hobbiest and provider alike. My guess is someone’s email was compromised and then the “spam” was sent. Happens often IRL. A little reminder as to the who, what, where’s and whys of things and that being assertive/careful is a good thing.

Also, posting text messages, emails, and personal info of any member or provider is against the guidelines. You can receive an infraction, and may lose your posting access.
