Why an Obama Victory Will Be Good for America

Yeah. Everyone knows I don't want Obama to win. But it could be a great thing.

If Obama wins, we will know that the people have chosen security over liberty. We will know that the "takers" now outnumber the "givers". There will be no pretense of promoting free market economics. There will be no pretense about respecting civil liberties, or managing the economy in a responsible manner.

It is my hope that if Obama wins, lovers of liberty and constitutional government will galvanize, unite, and become a real force for change. Up until now, we have been fragmented and abused by the ruling parties. We will have no other choice, our country will be hanging by a thread.

The good news is that even if Obama wins, actual voter turnout will be around 50-60%, which means there are a substantial number of people who simply aren't paying attention. Some can be awakened. Others will begin to understand the system can't be fixed, it must be replaced. It doesn't take a huge number to get things started.

Remember, during the Revolutionary war, fewer than 20% of the American colony participated on the side of freedom. The rest just sat back and watched. If we can unite, even a small movement can change the course of history. It has to happen, and it has to happen soon.

We saw this happen at the beginning of the Tea Party, but then it got de-railed by fear-based politics, nationalism, patriotism, and the like which caused the Tea Party leadership to advocate for security rather than liberty.

Where I disagree though is that Obama is critical to any of this.

Romney is just as much a part of the problem as any of these guys.

Romney doesn't give a shit that TSA workers grope cute girls and humiliate the elderly and weak. He doesn't care that the government accuses anyone who disagrees with it as terrorists, and acts heavy handedly to deprive citizens of their property and freedom everyday with no process of law.

In Romney's world none of that matters.

Romney's world is the modern high tech world of analyzing companies, finding awesome places to invest money, maximize returns, crunch numbers, and find solutions by more laws, more reforms, more new changes to everything.

He would never turn back the clock to the way anything was done before.
Yeah the tea party started on the right path, but that train went loco real quick.

I know Romney is part of the problem, but I'm afraid that his election will lull the Liberty Movement into a false sense of security. He will take us to the same place, it will just take a little longer. And he will be nicer about it. That's why Obama may galvanize us more quickly.

FF, most, if not all of the Tea Party members in Congress voted FOR the Patriot Act and the NDAA. They are not much help at all. To think a group founded by Ron Paul could go that far awry is staggering.
I know
You are talking decades, if ever, before your utopian change takes place.

In the meantime, the takers will demand more, and the government will centralize power to that means.

Horrible misery ahead if Obama wins.
