Help finding a site popular in certain region

I am in Upstate NY and eccie is very popular in my area. I know it isn't as popular in other regions.

I have a friend who has a son with Asperger's and is looking for companionship for him. He is in Biloxi, Mississippi but will travel to New Orleans if necessary.

Please let me know what safe and reliable sites are most popularly used in your area so I can let him know what direction to search. Thanks.
