Texas is someone arrested for solicitation, 1st time

Hi all, if someone has a spotless record, good job, well educated, etc and they get hit with this as their first interaction ever with police, is there a chance of getting a pre-trial intervention to do a program to drop charges? Complete it successfully and then whenever the amount of time passes, apply for expungement of arrest?

maybe, but there's numerous issues.
Get a local criminal lawyer who works the courthouse that the case would end up in, and that has experience with that issue.
Most likely a local lawyer would work with the DA to plea down to a lesser offense, fine, legal fees and maybe a "class" of some sort.
Depends on where you are. Every county handles cases differently. Find a local lawyer and they can discuss your options
It all depends. Some judges are tougher than others. Some counties are tougher than others. There is a human element, many judgements made, are you remorseful?

Sometimes it all comes down to a judge and his gut feeling.

Sometimes it all comes down to a judge and his gut feeling. Or a good relationship between the DA and judge or prosecuting attorney
Solicitation, in legal speak, is very very specific.

You can't get busted for what you don't say.

As for me, it all depends on the situation. How serious the offense was, how your lawyer works, how much information do you provide about certain points. All of this is extremely important. And of course the evidence that speaks for you or against you.
Yes. This happened to me. I was busted in a police sting in a spa in Houston. I agreed to have sex for $ with a woman inside the spa room. I handed over the cash, she left & closed the door. Fifteen seconds later Houston police came in & arrested me. Between that point & walking out of the jail in Houston I was in custody for 30 hours.

It was my 1st offense for anything & police had it all on film. I hired a lawyer (highly recommended) who had me do the pre-trial intervention thing which involved me writing a letter of confession, getting friends to write to say I was a good person, taking some online classes & doing some community service. My lawyer submitted this packet to the judge & my case was dropped. I served no jail time, paid no fines & have no criminal record, but the fact that I was arrested & why will still show up on my record if anyone runs it. I can pay my lawyer more $ to get the case expunged but am suspicious that this won't wipe the slate clean, just like you can't totally erase what's on your hard drive by hitting the delete button. I've looked into doing my own expungement but this seems next to impossible to do it thoroughly without a lawyer. I have no way of knowing which databases to have things deleted from & you need to know this.

I could write a book on the experiences I had in that 30 hours inside & the legal stuff I went through. But here's 2 pieces of advice. If you see a spa with signs out front that state: Under New Management, be very suspicious of a sting. If you go into a spa & the woman leads you into a well-lit room & offers you sex for money, be very suspicious, regardless of how she's dressed or if she's Asian. When I go to a spa I pay for a massage. I get naked on the table then see what happens.

Message me if you want more details.

His personal comment to me was about the lawyers from the big city coming into his community to attend a trial for the insurance companies that are being sued for damages for his clients.

They don't have a chance. He knows the judges and the police are on his side and that his clients are more likely to be rewarded.

Lawyers know what is happening behind what is shown in open court.

If you have the smallest thought that you may need a lawyer, hire the best one you can.
