Discreet texting

I'm in a situation now where it would be more difficult to conceal a second physical phone than to have a discreet app on my personal phone. Does anyone have experience using apps like Cover Me, Signal, etc. to mask your activity?
I would avoid using any of the texting apps associated with the big platforms - WhatsApp, etc. They all capture user data and then sell it to the highest bidder.

There are several burner apps (depending on your OS) that give you a virtual phone number that forwards / doesn't forward to your real phone. They usually come with virtual texting capability as well. (Any texts initiated by you have your virtual number displayed, not your real number.)

Hope this helps.

The only problem with using a burner is that ladies don't like anonymous or blocked numbers. A burner phone may give the number you are calling from but it doesn't link to your name.

I have used google voice before but I don't feel that is as secretive as the "talkatone"app ... its free if you don't use over a certain # of calls and texts (I have never paid for credits and I get texts/calls all the time). It does use internet / data so if you are in a bad data area it may be harder to connect than a whole burner phone which would have no problems. Whatever you decide to do make sure the notifications for that app are OFF when you need them to be. Silence them, delete the app and download/sign in again, mute your phone, whatever... But sometimes if you just mute you can still get notifications and if she sees that on your screen it may be an issue.

The apps you mentioned I have never heard of but I also don't swap phone apps often.

XOXO
I have a burner phone that I bought with a walmart card. No name on the account.
I have a burner app on that phone, with a different number than the phone.

I have VPN Hub app I turn on before turning on the burner app.

I have never had any issues with provider communication yet.
I always private message them on here before calling/texting.
Only downside is when I am working, we don't have cell service in most places and company wifi won't let me use the VPN Hub to go through wifi, and all our phones that use wifi have to be registered so they know who is doing what. No porn. No hobby. No fun.
Had a burner, used google voice, also stuck to pm’s on here. All seemed ok.

I use a burner app as well. Had to check a few out to see which one worked best for me. Good luck with that!
It doesn't work for calls since I only have the free version but here's what I do. I use a Macbook, I installed and Android OS emulator, once that's running I installed browser/apps including TextNow. I use this emulated "phone" do do browsing, email, texting. When it's not running, there is no trace of the other apps. If there's ever a need I can just delete the emulated Android phone and there is absolutely no trace of any of the other activity.

they will use your texts against you!!! ... wise up ppl!!! if yu read the whole article, it clearly states they are on these discussion boards........... "Many repeat buyers hang out on hobby boards — the equivalent of Yelp for commercial sex — where men discuss and rate “providers.” Lieutenant Sharpe said that his team members also hang out in these forums; one strategy is to post many “reviews” of a decoy number to drive it to the top of the list."......
just sayin
For generic VoIP use, I think using one of these apps are fine : https://www.privacytools.io/software/voip/ For more advanced security, I'll would wait until tox become fully integrated with Whonix. For Emails, good ol' PGP(its pretty easy to setup) using a secure email(Proton,Tuta, etc) or self-host with mail-in-a-box. For instant messenger, use retroshare or pidgin with OTR.

Signal is the only messenger app that is encrypted from end to end and does not store any information on their servers.
I read this and am now more confused. I have a tracphone for hobby use. Hiding the phone is a pain sometimes. What app can I add to my personal iPhone to discreetly text providers and sugar babes? I’m not concerned with someone selling my data, I just want to keep my activities hidden from the SO.
Again, I have an iPhone. What is the best app for this purpose?
Looking at the App Store on my iPhone, you might want to look at Burner. It seems to have a lot of users and is highly rated.

I kept reading “burner” on this thread and others and I thought they were referencing burner phones for some damn reason.
The “app” is called “burner”. Now I get it! Thanks for the clarification.
