Has anyone done one of these gift card appts?

I haven't done it but I've contacted a few "providers" that request it. I had one direct me all the way to a hotel only to then ask me to go to the Walgreens across the street to purchase a specific type of gift card.
The scam is that they ask for 4 digits from the card. Not the entire number. These 4 digits are the only ones they need to access the funds.
I didnt go thru a it. I dont recommend anyone else does either. If you decide to, dont give them any info from the card.
