I’d recommend somewhere near (but not at) the Texas side convention center. (Cowhorn Creek).
As far as places to eat, Ironwood Grill, Hopkins Icehouse, Zapatas, Redbone Magic Brewing Company, and 30 Burger are just a few off the top of my head that are locally owned and excellent.
