Goodbye Waco Kid

You were funnier than Hell in Blazing Saddles, many others too.

Did you know that Wilder started as a serious actor? Check out his turn in Death of a Salesman with Lee J Cobb in the title role.

Waco Kid....I liked him in the Frisco Kid as well.

I think Wilder's work in "The Producers" is my favorite.

RIP, Gene Wilder. Heaven is full of laughter with you and Gilda back together! Thanks for sharing your warmth, kindness and humor with us!
I discovered Gene Wilder through my Kelly Le Brock crush back in the 80's. He was a great actor.

I liked what his nephew had to say about him:

SIEGEL: All right, he would say, I am an actor, not a clown. Obviously, that distinction is important to you today and it was to him. Why?

WALKER-PEARLMAN: Because he came to humor from a very emotional place. His mother was very ill when he was 9 or 10 years old. That was my grandmother. And the doctor said, don't make her angry 'cause if you do, you could kill her. But you can make her laugh. So he found a way to make her laugh, but it was all based on emotion.

And then he fell in love with acting.

He will be missed but his humor will live on forever.

I must have seen Young Frankenstein seven times when it came out. what a cast led by such a great comedic actor.
