Slowdown !

Am I the only one that gets irritated with flight attendants when they do their speech on safety etc. just before take-off. They go so fast and with no inflection in their voice that it just becomes a bunch of noise , doing no one any good. Why not just have a recording if they dislike doing the speech so much ? The way they do it now is an insult to the passengers.

Most airlines do have recordings now.

Never seen a FA voicing out safety instructions. It's either video+audio or recorded voice with FA miming. That must be some interesting airlines that you travel with..

Southwest still does the instructions verbally.

And why is it that the instruction on how to fasten your seatbelt comes after you're required to have it fastened...

And yes, after several attempts to fasten it without instruction, I get it buckled.

I think a lot of the time , it's a FA on the intercom spitting out the info. while another FA goes through the motions. If it is a recording it's being played way too fast or my brain is going way too slow. Could be the latter. I've been known over medicate. Three glasses of wine usually slows me down some.
You try reading/saying the same spiel 5 times a day for 25 years. Their mouth is on autopilot and their brain is hundreds of miles away.
