WWII Mugshots of Montreal Prostitutes

Pretty interesting article about a series of mugshots of Montreal prostitutes and madames from the 1940s. At the time, Montreal was the sex tourism capital of North America (It is still one of the top destinations).

The first thing that jumps out at me is that none of these women are particularly attractive. I understand that mugshots aren't the most flattering photos and that standards of beauty change, but I can't imagine traveling to have sex with ANY of these women.

That last one, Delicato Bizante Lucie, looked like Ethel Mertz!

The 2nd lady isn't terrible looking (looks better than some i've seen currently that others actually call hot or beautiful) ... the others good lord. And yes they all look more like nuns or mean teachers than old school prostitutes.
