I was wondering those cities are doing. Is oil field still working? How are the hotels doing?

There's already been quite a few layoffs, it's definitely slowed way down. Between the oil prices tanking and the corona virus thing, it's become the perfect storm. Many people working from home and getting ready for a possible total lockdown.

As far as the hotels, most of the parking lots look pretty empty, so I'm going to assume they've already dropped their prices. Haven't called to check, just an assumption.
I doubt the hotels have dropped their prices much if any, but unfortunately we still won't get good providers here now with the coronavirus going on !!!
You can find most places are less than $150 night. Odessa Marriot is sub $200. Weekend prices are close to pre-boom prices. This week many of the majors have/will be increasing their response plans so prices are going to continue to drop like a rock.

To give another indication my airfare here last week was about half of normal. Which was still stupid high.
Getting kinda empty around town! Rooms are vacant food is not on the shelves and bars are shutdown and a sign of trouble is before the virus hit there was a man camp south of Odessa/Midland that was vacated! I mean vacated to point the company man drove in and gave them 3 hours to clear out! So they looted the place of TV's play stations and even took pool table apart as they were leaving! The rooms will be affordable if providers want to stop but the customers may be strapped for cash. We will be left with broke ass boom town rats and thieves in very near future.
