Pensacola and Destin

Hi guys, it’s been a while. I’m visiting Pensacola and considering a stop in Destin afterwards. I’ve heard not to stay in FWB but people suggest Okaloosa Island. Aren’t they the same?

Yes. Okaloosa Island is part of Ft. Walton Beach, but it's literally only a five-minute drive from Destin. Hotel rates are usually cheaper than Destin (might not be now due to Spring Break however).

Also, be wary if you pass through Okaloosa Island on your way to Destin. There is heavy bridge construction going on now.
