This wasn't a riot. It was a terrorist attack.

Question: Is NY permanently on the downside? With the tens of thousands of COVID deaths, the immigration away from the taxes to other states and the damage and bodily threats from the looters, will NYC go away like many over sized cities have throughout history?
I think the rich people on the upper east side of manhattan, after a few of them discover a horde eating out of their sub zeros and soiling their settess by putting shoes on the fabric, will

get armed security at each apartment building

Will take a lot of armed Security - and deBlasio won't want to issue the permits - to deal with harlem moving south.

Let's look at one New York gentleman; Ice Tea was a rapper and now he is an actor. He supports BLM and other liberal causes but he also believes in the right to be armed. He has a white, big-breasted wife and lives in a very nice part of the city. Do you think he will give up his guns? Or his right to protect his family or property? So what happens when the dog catches the car?

Just wait until the actuaries roll in to town driving their Prius's and brandishing their data models. You'll see some serious issues as they formulate the new insurance rates for those cities.

Two simple rules in life to remember - Gangstas gonna Gangsta and Actuaries gonna Actuary

Does not matter what the actuaries compute - with only MS-13 to take the place of police forces - the cities will be uninsurable - no Insurance company can take that risk level.
Again,

If "they" dismantle the police, they might as well dismantle the courts. If they dismantle the courts they might well dismantle the legislatures. They've already started to dismantle the jails.

Their final solution is to hand out "social justice," like the Gestapo did.

Be afraid...and armed.
