Hey gang. I have booked will be in BOGOTA from 2/6 to 2/10. Any and all advice will be helpful. I just wanted to finally get out of the country. Besides Europe

My random thoughts about Botoga...

You can find anything and everything you want (and a lot of stuff you don't want) in the Sante Fe district. DO NOT go there alone - it is dangerous. If you can go in a large group, you might be ok but I'd avoid it all together. You have been warned. El Centro isn't as bad but it's all tourists.

Generally the northern areas of the city are better than the southern areas. If you look like a foreigner and have some game, you may be able to score with the local ladies (non-providers.) They love American men. However, not knowing any Spanish is a problem. My ideal trip would be to meet 1 or 2 local ladies and just spend the time with them. They can show you a lot and you can have BCD whenever you want it.

Best time to go to the bars/clubs is 10pm to 1am. Just like here, the best time to score is right at closing time. There was a pretty cool place called Copacabanas but I couldn't tell you where it was. Somewhere on the north side. There are "after hours" places (reservados or something like that) you can go to if you want to drink after 1am.

The girls in the brothels will run you anywhere from $30 to $80 USD. It's more if you want to take them for the night but everything is negotiable. ALWAYS agree to a price in USD before any activities take place. Repeat it back to her ("We will do x, y and z for $50 American") so that everything is crystal clear. Personally, I'd avoid the brothels. I've got big balls but you gotta be a brave mf'er to go hook up in one of those places.

And now some unfortunate but much needed advice. ALWAYS be on your guard and in control! Don't get drunk or buzzed. Watch your drink. The girls will bump into you and hug you so make sure your wallet is somewhere where they can't get to it. You WILL be offered coke in the clubs & on the streets, politely decline. Not trying to freak you out. Some guys go over and go ape sht crazy and wake up the next day with no money, no passport and wonder how they could have been so stupid. Keep your wits about you and you'll be fine.

Do a little research online to see if you can set something up in advance. There are tons of websites where you can check out the ladies and even set something up. Don't send any money though. The bellman and/or concierge at your hotel will certainly be able to help you too.

For my dos centavos Costa Rica would have been a better destination but those Colombian's are pica hot.
