Fave text app? Or you folks use diff phone?

Not sure how folks prefer to contact other folks. I guess now that I mention it Obama phone may make most sense?

separate hobby phone. Walmart has lots of cheap phones and pay for prepaid plan with cash. Always store in same place with the battery out , so it doesn't go off if/when providers contact you when don't expect it or are not actively using the phone

I also use open VPN. My ip comes out of LA or Stockholm.
Low probability of tracing.

If I had to choose an app it would be text now, it will give you a new number and allows you to call Unlimited and text to USA number. But my vote would be a separate prepaid phone

I'm using a new app it is pretty cool actually..
, the only difficulty I'm having is hearing conversation actually they say they can't hear me very well unless I'm connected to WiFi any advice on that.

Depends on the app. If you have a good provider than their 4G signal should give you good connection. So check the data rate of your provider NOT on wi-fi, and you might want to change that depending on where you live and your primary area of coverage for higher bandwidth cell service (not wi-fi).

Again, that will vary by provider, location, phone type (some have better electronics, etc.) and how the app routes the call (direct, through their servers, etc) and its encryption (if it has it). unfortunately all that requires some research, but google (or Bing, etc ) are your friends.
