Obama is the pilot of an airplane that's in a dive, and he has no intention of pulling out of it. Most of the passengers (fifty two percent) figure the pilot must know what he's doing; he's obviously not going to deliberately crash the plane.

Our debt crisis reminds me of an old Pete Seeger song "Waist Deep in the Big Muddy." Seeger is a communist; he intended the song as a metaphor for the Vietnam War.
