Clearing Router / Modem information

I recently had an issue with my internet provider (Suddenlink) service going down. While I had tech support on the phone they guided me through different fix scenarios. They logged in remotely and could see everything that I was doing / what was happening.

If they have this kind of access can they also see the sites I have accessed and what my Google searches have been? I have always wondered how, after a crime, LE can see who searched on what.

My laptop is configured to run CCleaner at each startup. Is there a way to clear router and modem data? If not, I may get a burner phone with hotspot capability. Any issues with that approach?

Anything and everything you visit goes through your ISP's DNS servers so clearing your local cache doesn't really matter. If you're really looking to beef up your privacy then I suggest getting a Virtual Private Network. What happens is that you connect to the net through them and it packets are encrypted. Private Internet Access is a popular VPN right now.

Hotspot is your best bet, and I would never use a public wifi.

Burner phones are great
