I'm simply AMAZED right now...

As a music lover, and self named MUSIC HOARDER , this absolutley blows my mind! A device that also serves as a phone, camera, camcorder, alarm clock, and SO MANY OTHER THINGS, can be a portal for a music storage and playing system that currently holds somewhere around 26,000 songs! Then, when the headphone jack is hooked into the small, three speaker system, it produces a sound so powerfull it literally SHAKES THE WALLS. Goosebump moment....

I can look back a few years and imagine all the cd cases, jackets, cassette tape clutter and crap that would linger in the TRUE music lover's atmosphere. I love that now it is all contained in a device I wouldn't call SMART... but absolutley MAGNIFICANT!!

I remember when I got my two iPods and a mixer device to place them. It was nice not having to carry around the CD collection. All the music and the devices to play it fit in one laptop case.

I have a pile of cd's in storage. I can't bear to throw them away in case I need to rip them again. I don't want to pay for them twice. What do the rest of you do with your cd's once you've made the digital jump?

Yes, I still keep my CD's as well. You never know when they will come in handy. I still bring the CD player/mixer to gigs where I run a stage for performing groups. The vast majority of them bring their music on CD's. Very few bring an iPod or other MP3 player. Hell, I have even had one group bring their music on cassette tapes.

...Well guess what? I have cassette tapes too. My favorite ones are those which I made while waiting for some particular song to play on the radio... missing half of it.... but running upstairs to hit record anyway! And then there are the ones I recorded while having a mike plugged in... changing a word or two around here and there... which I still do to this day ( minus the cassesse deck lol.)

As a true music lover ( Rover have you ever even seen my television turned on lol ) I can brag that I have cds that I've kept in mint condition since I was about 14. This includes the ENTIRE discography of Pink Floyd and Led Zep.

Hoping to remain on (sub)topic. How do I get my cd's on my iPod? I'm not having much success with that. I need to get my Jerry Clower collection ripped, along with others. Most of my music is already on the pc or an old mp3. Not real excited about having to buy my music twice, a second time through iTunes

If you have an iPod then you should have iTunes on a computer. iTunes can copy a music CD directly into the iTunes library. Then you just synchronize your iPod to that library.

I miss records and CD's. I always hated cassette tapes and 8 tracks...man I am old. I just got on the iPhone/iTunes band wagon a little over a year ago. Digital music is pretty amazing...I just miss the old stuff some times.
