Gerontophilia

I was reading a Savage Love column and the above word was used to answer a question about a man who was divorcing his wife (he sounded early middle aged) to marry an 89 year old woman.

Well ... this is my new word of the day: gerontophilia. And I have clients who really wish to see an older woman.

But I believe there is bit of a difference between seeing someone who is older, or mature, and seeing someone who is elderly. And then, guess we would have to define what "elderly" means!

Does anyone out there know of a person who has a "thing" for elderly people?

Just curious!

If the "elderly" women all looked like Jane Fonda etc, I can see a lot of interest. You are talking about an interest in women and men who have not kept their youthful appearance so it is more of a "fetish". I think you see it more for elderly men by young women for obvious reasons. Many of these so called elderly do have large sex drives although performance may be a bit off. I do know of younger women who get positions in nursing homes to satisfy the male residents at a price of course.

Damn Elisabeth, when I first saw the title I thought it was going to be a fear of Native Americans, or Geronimo in particular! Sorry for the hijack, carry on...or punish me, whatever works for you!

But others may disagree. I've always considered elderly anyone who is about twenty years older than myself!!! No really. I do!

Still, the term seems to indicate a sexual leaning towards people who are much older than the new middle age.

no offense intended Elisabeth. I should have used mature rather than elderly. I consider myself a mature man at 45 (All the topless dancers started calling me sir and I had to quit going to gentlemans clubs I guess my condition is wanting to be with people my own age. Again no offense intended

Oh gosh, no offense at all taken! I will admit that I've been very sick this last week and perhaps I'm not expressing myself well.

Once of the reasons why I started this topic was to discuss what might be hot, from a younger person's perspective, of a much older person.

And well, someone who is rather infirm to some degree.

You know, like I am today!!!
