What's fun to do in San Antonio besides hobbying?

As my handle implies, I'm not originally from the Lone Star State and I'm still figuring out what's fun in San Antonio. I'd appreciate suggestions from anyone indigenous to these parts or simply more well traveled than I. I'm in my mid 30's and my guests are in their early 20's, men and women, and some may be under 21, so I might have to accommodate that crowd also. Thanks in advance from a transplanted midwesterner!
Welcome to SA Transplanted2tex! Here are some suggestions:

1. Tour the Hill Country and go to the local wineries
2. Check out the Caverns
3. Six Flags Fiesta Texas & Sea World
4. Museums
5. In April...we have our Fiesta
6. Lakes and city parks
7. Zoo
8. Quarry Market & La Cantera (shopping & restaurants)
9. Annual Rodeo (early February)

Also, if you want to drive...go to Austin (1hr drive.) There's lots of things to do there.

Welcome to our fair city, transplanted2tx.

Well, my newlytransplantedtoourfaircity fromthemidwesternfriend, it really depends what you and your friends are into...

There's gangs, carjackings, tagging, pushing tourists into the river on the Riverwalk, spitting off of the Tower of The America, heckling Henry-The Puffy Taco, Stepping on The Spur's Coyote's tail, beer runs....LOL.

I kid. I kid. I'll fly right and behave....

Hmmm...early twenties huh? I like women in this age group so I'm going to help you out, midwesterntransplantedstranger toourcity.

Consider me your friendly (drunker'n hell) tour guide.

Rooster said it. Right now it's Stock Show and Rodeo time here in San Antonio. Great place to take in a Rodeo show and a musical performance/concert immediately afterward. 1-ticket/both events. It runs until Feb.21. There are some really big entertainers that perform
(Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, etc) Check the schedule for the line-up
http://www.sarodeo.com/sarodeo/rodeo...rtainment.html

If nothing else, just go check out the grounds. All sorts of food booths, displays, petting zoo (my personal favorite. heh!) if that's your thing...Carnival, rides, etc. .
It's pretty cool and a fun time. Lots and lots of Cowgirls wearin' tight-ass Wranglers...for true! There's a bunch of Cowboys running around down there too if that's your thing....just sayin' not judging...I just don't know...you didn't give me a lot to work with...
And, It's relatively inexpensive.

If that doesn't blow the young ladies skirt up, there's always The Riverwalk. (downtown) Hit this at night preferably with a sexy woman you're trying to romance on your arm and let the charm and romantic ambiance of the Rwalk work its magic...your chances of getting lucky with her just increased exponentially.

There's all sorts of bars/restaurants down there. It's a must see...if nothing else, just to say you've been there but it's pretty nice.
It's free to visit the river and walk the thing, but the bars/restaurants are moderately priced. Some cool places though.

We've got a pretty good NBA Basketball team. San Antonio Spurs. Ever heard of 'em? The games can be a lot of fun. Concession prices suck ass though. Price gouging bastaads! Don't they know I need my money for drinks and h**kers!

Fiesta is coming up and this is Kick ass good time!
(a potential 10 day drunken debauchery. I've got the scars to prove it.)
It's in Mid April though..
http://www.fiesta-sa.org/schedule.aspx

Those are the 'big attractions/seasonal events.

Other than that, there's several strip clubs. Sugar's, Perfect 10's those are pretty good stops. I gotta' warn you though...there's usually some hot sexy ladies there who'll dance and take off their clothes if ya' keep them interested by placing Dollar bills under the elastic strap of their g-string undies. No Shit! I've done it for hours on end and it never ceased to amaze me how that shit works. It's expensive but all sorts of fun.

If that's not your thing, there's a bunch of gay bars over by San Antonio College. There's Gay's, Lesbians, TS/TV's pre-op/post-op whatever you'd like I guess..? Can't really say anything about them though as I've never visited these places so you're pretty-much on your own. Sorry 'bout that.

Still haven't tickled your fancy? There's all sorts of bars around town. Personally, not really my thing and I'm kinda' out of touch because of it...but I like the Riverwalk area clubs.

Hey! We've got a handful of porno shops scattered across town. These places are Hella' Fun! There's Adult Video Mega-Plex (2 of them bad boys!). Adam and Eve, Apollo. They've got all sorts of shit to get your freak-on with. DVD's, lingerie, rubbin oils, heating oils, self-lubricating oils, oilless oils..all sorts of oils. Toys? They've got them sumbitches too! Any shape color, size, quantity, your warped midwestern mind could possibly imagine. They've got toys that wiggle, they've got toys that giggle they've even got toys that'll make you crawl on your belly like a reptile screaming for a spanking! There's all sorts of filthy sexual enhancing things and trouble that you can get yourself into. Be your own freak and the sky's the limit.

Well mynewlytransplantedtoourfairci tyfromthemidwesternfriend, I hope that you find some of these nuggets useful. San Antonio is a pretty cool city and there's all sorts of stuff to do and thAngs (<~~that's a Texan word )to see. If these aren't your thAng, let us know what is you're wanting to do and we'll point you into the right direction.

Cool?

Thank you and I hope you found your tour informative sa well as, SofaKingFun

Happy trails,
SKF

SFK covered a ton but depending on what you like there is the Mission Trail which includes all the missions including the Alamo. Catch a concert at the Majestic, Willie Nelson will be there later this month. Not far off to the north is Gruene Hall for the opposite type of venue. When it warms up you will want to return to that area and "tube" the river. And in a few weeks some great antiquing can be had in Wimberly.

Roller derby will be starting up here is SA soon. (http://www.alamocityrollergirls.com)
And there is the hockey thing. (http://www.sarampage.com) (They are not playing now, but bookmark the page for the schedule)
Both fun, and much cheaper than the rip off Spurs (not the team, the venue and concessions.)
...Here are some suggestions:
1. Tour the Hill Country and go to the local wineries

Senoritas and great Mexican food! Mi Tierra. Market square, the Taco House and if you don't like that go to eat a chicken fried steak at Tip Tops or Lu Lu's.
speaking of a vineyard atmosphere---
I enjoy driving up here every once in a while for a great dinner, a few glasses of their excellent wine(s) followed by a nice cigar while strolling around the grounds...

GneissGuy...that could be arranged! (lol)

One thing I forgot to add is pick up the San Antonio Current at most bars or clubs...it's the local entertainment newspaper and it's free.
