Eagle Pass Casino

I keep hearing ads for the Eagle Pass Casino on the radio. Has anybody been there? If so, what's it like? I was thinking of driving down there one day next week but I don't want to waste my time if it is a shit hole. Any info would be appreciated.

Its a shit hole! Had a show there a few years back. Its is nothing but cheap slots and a few poker tables.

Thanks. You saved me 4 + hours of wind shield time.

You're welcome. I would have never gone there if someone hadn't paid me to go. Nothing but geriatric chain smoking dregs of the earth for patrons.

They have a real nice poker room, about 20 or so poker tables.Texas Hold ‘Em" Tournaments. It's seperated from the slots. So it's quiet there.
It's mostly a warehouse full of slot machines and a few blackjack tables.
they serve booze and the food is ok.

its NOT in the little casino anymore, its actually pretty big now...

or course its not as good as anything like lauberge or any of those, but its good for bieng the only casino in tx..

and im sure none of you all have gone in SEVERAL years cuz they havent had blackjack tables there for about 4 or 5 yrs.

besides its good for me since im only an hr drive

also in all my years of going to MANY casinos.. this is the only place where you actually win pretty good amounts of money comnpared to anything in LA or even vegas...

No BlackJack.....no Craps? Then why go? Slots are for losers IMHO!

Hi,

Went years ago and was very disappointed that I got paid with paper! No clanging or noise when you win! Also, the drive back off the main road to the casino was a little scary for me...aheheheh..I made sure I was out of there before it was dark...ahehehhe...and I take a lot of chances but not in that area...maybe now they have lights! I haven't been back to find out!

My biggest fear was if I won big (aheheheh) would I be able to get out of there!

Sincerely,
Velvet

I'm not a gambler but Velvet hit the nail on the head for me.
They design those casinos to get the most of your money.
And for me, it is the sound of the ching-a-ling that makes it have that homey casino feel. But they are moving away from the coin to the paper. And the sound is something that kills it for me. Makes me think no one is winning.

I've been twice in the last six months, it's a pretty big building, but if you expect the big casino experience you'll be dissapointed.

The slots pay out with paper, no coins.

The only table game is poker. NO blackjack, craps, roulette, or anything else.

As for the poker, they have tournaments on the weekends, during the week you can find 3-6 limit holdem, sometimes they will have 5-10 limit or a 2-5 no limit game if they have enough people.

I doubt I'll be going back anytime soon, its a long drive, if I'm going to drive that far I would just as soon drive a little farther and go to one of the real casinos in Louisianna.

Thanks for all the input. I think I'll pass on Eagle Pass. I was just going to kill a day and drive down to play black jack and craps. I figured a few hours on the road would be worth it for some decent table games but I'm not into slots. Texas needs to legalize gambling and put a nice casino in the old Astro Dome.
