This repeats an earlier post of 11/29/2011 but clarifies the research being conducted and options for contributing information.

We are trying to assist a journalist named Joanna Chiu with some important research. We have noted her work on our Web site. In our view, she is one of the few journalists who properly separates sex trafficking from consensual sex work. Her message follows.

My name is Joanna Chiu and I am a freelance journalist. As a Canadian sex-positive feminist, I support the full decriminalization of sex work. My articles feature the authentic voices of sex workers and clients to fight the silencing and stereotyping of sex workers and clients in the media. See http://www.rhrealitycheck.org/blog/2...ork-craigslist and http://sexlifecanada.ca/canada/natio...t-sex-work-ads or check out my website at http://www.joannachiu.com for more samples of my work.

I am currently living in New York and I'm working on an article that will examine how stigmatization of sex workers and clients and controversies about prostitution law affect non-governmental agencies' ability to address sex trafficking.

I am looking to talk to current or former clients about how sex trafficking operates, ideas about how clients and adult consensual sex workers can get involved in fighting sex trafficking, and the ways governments and NGOs confuse trafficking with sex work and demonize clients.

If you contact me, I will keep all our correspondences strictly confidential and take all measures necessary to protect your identity.
