Is Free Speech dead in America?

Ever heard the saying, if one innocent man is in prison then all of us are in prison. Different variations on the theme. If one child is hungry..., if one person is denied healthcare..., and so on.
So now I ask you, if one man is denied free speech then none of us have free speech. If that one man was a president of the United States then we are all doomed. If they can take away his right to speak then none of us are safe. Ask Stephen Crowder, Ben Shapiro, Tim Pool, Joe Rogan, or Alex Jones. All of them have been kicked off, suspended, demonetized, or shadow banned because of what they said about something that the left does not want you to think about.

If I was a cartoonist, I draw a cartoon of a fresh grave with a tombstone that says, "Free Speech, 1781-2021" and the grave diggers would be Zuckerberg, Dorsey, Spiegel, and all the other tech billionaires.

You have just summed yourself up.
You have no right to be on facebook. You have no right to speech on eccie. You have no right to be on any electronic media.
How many times do you have to be corrected?
Privately owned platforms can deny service to any one.
You think because you and your ilk want to be on any given platform you can be. Don't worry, eccie won't kick you off for lying. Because you're nobody. They (privately owned media) hold others (somebodies/public figures/others) to a different standard.
We get it. You don't understand what being denied free speech is. At this point, it's obvious you'll never understand.
None of your "friends" know either. It suits their purpose/ narrative to not stop you from leading with your chin.
Since that would be disingenuous to pretend you weren't wrong, they can't define it either.

Dude, that's like saying AT&T or Motorola have the right to shut off your cell phone service because of your political beliefs lol.

I don't know the significance of a company being privately owned. I think that just influences stocks and stuff.

Why would you defend YouTube and Twitter censoring independent content to promote corporate media?

Private platforms can deny service...what about the bakers who did not want to make gay wedding cakes? The courts have decided that private businesses DO NOT have the right to deny service.
Public figures are held to a different standard...what standard are you talking about? Facebook, Twitter, and others do not publish that standard. They put forth a rather ambiguous framework of behavior that they violate themselves frequently.
I'm not on Facebook or Twitter. The only social media site that I frequent is ECCIE. I am still passed about my recent banning for the following reasons; my words were nearly identical to a couple of democrat representatives. We're they censored on other sites? Nope, but I get banned. I use a turn of phrase that is, admittedly, archaic but in my opinion not an attack on anyone. Standards have to be open and available for anyone. After all, what happens if we all leave? ECCIE only exists if we participate.
I'm tired of trying to explain common sense to a flock of sheep. I'm going to go to bed. We can agree that you are a uncommon fool.

Free speech is discouraged on FB, Twitter, YouTube and others. They are confining themselves to libtard circle jerks while their revenues go down. Brilliant!!! As most libtard strategies are. Meanwhile, other platforms are popping up. GAB, Telegram, Parler, Rumble and others. And they are growing rapidly.

And ECCIE?
the left is trying heartily to end free speech

their attempts go under different guises

first it was hate speech

something as innocent as saying you were voting for trump on college campuses was hate speech

now its devolved into stopping "disinformation"

which in practice means, stopping anything we disagree with

the left doesn't want free speech, they want managed speech, where they manage all speech

where they can manage speech, they manage kids minds

I think we should all want TRUE speech.

Apparently you disagree with that, liberty lovers.

1. Governments should promote news literacy and strong professional journalism in their societies.

2. The news industry must provide high-quality journalism in order to build public trust and correct fake news and disinformation without legitimizing them.

3. Technology companies should invest in tools that identify fake news, reduce financial incentives for those who profit from disinformation, and improve online accountability.

4. Educational institutions should make informing people about news literacy a high priority.
