P411's PM function inhibits communication

It appears that when P411 instituted there new PM function, they took down the email function.

I tried to get in touch with a provider this week that hasn't visited her P411 page since 6/23.

Under the old system, I'd send her an email through P411, and P411 would relay it to the email address she had listed with them. Most ladies would pick up the email on their phones.

If the PM function works on P411 like it does on ECCIE, someone has to actually log in to be notified that a message is waiting. Ladies may not log in on a daily basis (in the case I'm referring to, it has been about 10 days).

I wish we went back to the old email system.

And yes, she does have a phone number listed, but that is NOT my preferred method of first contact. I prefer to contact through P411 first so my bona fides are given up front. Saves a lot of back and forth screening.
P411 notifies me by email of any PMs that I receive.
Good to know. Guess I'm dealing with someone who prefers I call the number.

Or, OTOH, she's looked at my profile and decided she's not interested. Wouldn't blame her much.
charles, as ansley said I still get notice from p411 on all request that go thru p411 in my e-mail including pms all request for ok's and/or appointments can be handled without logging into p411. Under the new setup must log in to read pm's.
Surely you jest sir who wouldn't want to see you charles?? xoxo chelsea

The "appointment request" function still works, too. I haven't received any PMs yet -- I actually hope I don't. Just like on ECCIE and other boards, if it's not in my inbox where I'll see it every time I check my mail, I'll likely forget about it.

Edited to add: Just wrote to P411 asking if including an option to NOT accept PMs would be possible. I don't want to dissuade people from contacting me, but I don't want to let my forgetfulness get in the way of us actually meeting...
Ditto here. I happen to be enjoying the new provider access changes. Everything looks well put together.
And Charles...Johnny Depp isn't everyone's bag. I happen to think he looks a little too grungy. I much prefer the clean cut boys myself.

I do plan to put in an option for the ladies to turn off the PM option, which would leave the Appt and Okay Requests only, which go through email as before.

Also, in the meantime there is the option to forward a PM to your email address.... if you prefer to handle everything in your own email box.

All feedback is welcome, and we are still working on this to make it work as good as it can!

Sincerely,
Gina
