What adds to ones post count?

Reviews
Posts in restricted access forums like ML or PR

PM's don't.

But what else? Does a RTM, for example, count as a post for total post count purposes? What else could account for a post count that does not match the visible posts

Any post you make in any forum will add to your post count. Yes, that includes reviews and RTM's because reviews are posts and RTM's automatically create posts. PM's are not posts and are not included in the post count.
