I just got a text saying Alert you are listed on exposingjohns.com and my phone number for soliciting a prostitute online for sex. Go to the above link to Delete your profile. Is this a scam????

The number it came from us 310-435-7054

It is the same as BadBoyreports.com some lady puts your name and number on it and for you to get it off the list you have to pay...

but it is a scam of sorts.. mine was put on BBR I know who it was so I started putting her # on sites designed to do the same on the ladies.

Thanks for the info. I think I know who it was but am not totally sure.

I believe LE has taken an interest in these type web-sites. Recently, a site-owner was arrested for posting arrest photos, info, etc. Then contacting the same people stating for a payment of $XX they will remove the info from the site.

I think there were some links to LE asking for additional victims.

You might do some research and see if you can report this site anonymously.

As well, this would be a wake-up call to everyone to tighten up on their Communications Security.

Catmando, did you try doing a search with that phone number IN Backpage for example in the city that you are in? I'm curious if they place ads on BP...get guys to reply with a phone number and then that's how they contacted you.

I had a gent I just saw who...ON his way to the appt., got one of those messages on his cell phone although the incoming number was a different area code. He suggested that the BP idea might be how they got his number.

Think about what you were doing that day (you got the message) or previously. Were you "on" BP by chance?

See if you can find out of that phone number is linked to a BP ad.

At least we would know where this is coming from.

Because I've gone on the site (and I have yet to do deeper research on it), but don't think the women get any financial benefit for mentioning a man's name/number other than if she were disgruntled and just wanted the satisfaction of knowing she outed him there.
