Will ECCIE be able to stay up after FOSTA/SESTA?

Assuming Trump signs the bill (it seems likely, it makes him sound strong and effective), what potential jeopardy is ECCIE in? It looks bad to me. Craigslist has already shut their personals section down.
My guess is that things will get worse before they get better. So I would expect it or for it to be limited. This isn't good for anyone. As a client I count on the sites for the reviews to help me find quality providers that I know I will likely enjoy time with. It's safe for us because we can cross reference sites to verify that the provider is real and not going to rip us off or LE. It's also safer for the providers because it allows them to screen potential clients.

The business isn't going anywhere. How business is done will likely change. Sort of how there has been attempts to limit illegal downloads of music and movies. First there was Napster, Limewire, and now torrents that use VPNs. Technology and resources have changed and will continue to change. Unfortunately it is likely the hobby will have to go more "underground" or to the darker parts of the web. Which I don't like because that is where you find the scary stuff.

Hopefully legal challenges to the law win in time but it will take time.

I like and enjoy Eccie for the actual purpose it is intended for, but if it has to shut down/go underground, then I guess that means no more embellished romantic novel pimp/facilatator reviews that bait business in the door for new to Eccie girls, no provider/white knight backlash for reporting a subpar session or trolls to hijack threads with agendas and baiting posts? Tough decision, but I would be able to cope without all that drama.

It appears to me that all guys need to obtain the provider(s) contact info (email, phone. ect.) that they wish to be able to see in the future, and I have mine.

I hope Eccie doesn't go. I wonder will this include p411?
P411 is based in Canada and takes every precaution possible to not do any of their business in the US.

Eccie is overseas now, several years ago the state of Texas attempted to shut them down prompting them to locate all site assets outside the US as much as possible.

TER is not taking chances though as they are registered as being overseas. Although they have not been up front about where their servers that contain data are located. Removing US ads makes me think that their servers are US based.

Craigslist has been through this before and is not taking any unnecessary chances. And the same Congress-critter responsible for Craigslist taking down it's adult section several years ago. The same one behind the push against Backpage in the House.

Things will clear up once the final bill is signed and made available to the public.

At that point legal teams employed by sites or legal teams that usually protect the porn and strip club industries will step up and advise sites on what to do. Additionally, they will be the ones along with possibly the ACLU, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch who have at least tacitly indicated support for sex worker rights.

This impacts Google, too. Don’t think they won’t fight the unintended consequences of this misguided and unnecessary bill.

Speaking of "Unintended Consequences"

And another link on email in my signature, too.

Perhaps one of the biggest laws of Unintended Consequences came in the early part of the 20th Century when Congress instituted and the States supported

"Prohibition!"

That Amendment lasted from 1920 until it was repealed in 1933.

~ evil grin ! ~
Back in the 90s there was something simijlar that targeted porn websites.
Redclouds owner took all his equipment and moved to Canada.
That put a few people out of work and cut taxes to the US.
Hi it m

I know it is stupid, but yes we do; because, there are a lo of dummies that keep getting on this site. It would be easy to have the definition, codes of conduct, and other basic information on a special tab that could be easily found. Just a little programming to help the Dummies.
imagine if it goes down for a bit.

Will this help or hinder us?

Because on one hand, providers will get desperate, and start contacting the existing clients in their phone. So rates may go down, or rather they may give you more time and start being super duper nice to you.

But on the other hand, clients will have no access to this board or any providers, and some will get desparate to pay whatever. So rates may go up.

Hmmm....

Who breaks first? My guess is the providers....but you never know.
Well it should be the providers that break. Charging anything above $300 or $350/hour for GFE is ridiculous.

So whoever DJT signs this into law, provided he uses the same pen he used to pay off his last provider, it will take til 2019 to go into effect.

As soon as it is signed though a number of groups will immediately petition courts in their areas for an injunction with pending lawsuits on the Constitutinality of the law. Since the DOJ already issued a memo stating the law is, prima facie, unconstitutional it shouldn’t take much to get a temporary injunction.

Then the lawsuits will happen. And who the hell knows what goes on there. I think it gets routed in the lower courts but the federal system is a mystery right now. As the law stands it violates a number of key Constititonal provisions and existing precedents. The international reach of the law will be hard to prosecute too. If the DOJ tries to shutdown access to sites that are managed off shore like our beloved ECCIE, they’ve got an entirely different fight on their hands.

I’m looking forward to the next 18 months.
And that little activity made all the Bootleggers and Speakeasys Rich!!!!
