I will preface by saying none of this is rhetorical. I really want the opinions of others here providers and clients alike. I was wondering what the attraction would be for using an agency rather than an indy girl. Some guys seem to prefer that but I do not see the attraction for choosing an agency. To me it seems to make more sense to go with an indy. As for me personally, I prefer to see the girl get paid for her efforts. She earned it. I've always seen something sort of "scummy" about somebody taking a huge chunk of the money from a transaction just for answering a phone and passing on a message. The indys do not seem to find it overwhelming to do that on their own by making their own appointments and frankly they earned all the money by keeping the appointments. I do not see where an agency has earned much of anything answering a phone and passing on a message. To me it seems as if the agencies are ripping the girls off and by using the agencies we men are assisting them in it. I would prefer to simply go straight to the indy girl. Again, that is just me. Some men will obviously disagree but I would still like to hear it from them so I could understand just to satisfy my own curiosity.

If I had to answer solely on the rep of MS agencies, I'd say there is NO good reason for girls to use an agency. They frequently send girls out as a Bait & Switch without even telling them what name they are supposed to answer to (voice of experience) and will try to send them on 20s appts a day if they can get away with it.
There are however some legit agencies who seem to serve a useful purpose. I've used Christopher's Cuties in New Orleans a handful of times and always got the girl I picked from their website. Besides making the appts and contacting the girl, an agency should be doing some sort of screening to rule out LE, and many even have their girls on sites like Preferred411. This is not like the MS agencies I've unknowingly used thinking I was calling the girl who rarely screen. Some girls are terrible at the business end, so many actually like the convenience of letting someone take care of that end and then all they have to do is show up and do their thing. There is some perceived element of safety for agency girls since they call in at the start of an appt to indicate things are ok and maybe the agency would send someone to check if that call didn't come (I've had them call the agency at both the start and end of the appt). Some agencies provide transportation for the girls, so they don't have to use their own vehicles and some will even bail the girl out if it turns out to be an LE sting.
All in all, an agency isn't a really bad idea for girls just starting the biz who need some guidance, but I think it's better that they become Independent once they are comfortable with the entire process!

I think the answers that will appear here will be simply misinformed as to the true benefits of a management firm. Namely the idea that anyone would think it is better for a young lady to wade thru the unsafe world of escorting using the trial and error method many here are suggesting. One error can mean harm, jail or even death. The true benefit to a firm is the client list. If you have a firm such as our with over 6000 national safe verified clients, the value of being able to safely have a man enter your incall location without the concern of it being someone dangerous, or wondering if youll be spending the night in jail is in itself reason enough to most intelligent young ladies who do the math.
Add to that the many other benefits such as all expenses paid, never having to run your own ads, not having to "live" the life but able to simply come to work and leave work at work when you go home. How many client does an Indy have to see to make it worth a bust every 2 mos when the cost of a bust, lawyers, bail etc can exceed 5 grand? Take those numbers into consideration and many it can explain why many Indys are working fulltime and have little to show.
Now of course not all firms offer those benefits, and those few that do tend to be lumped in with the ones who simple take cash to point a girl in a direction and let her go it alone. All that being said, If a mature provider whos only looking to have a small steady clientel and low volume to add a little cash to her shopping ability then yes, for her going Indy would be the way to go. Over the years we have had our share of young ladies who by one client or another were convinced to go indy and did, of those ladies who did, only 2 have ever lasted in the biz longer than 6mos. over a dozen were arrested or abused before quitting completely. While some gents actually believe they may be helping the girl by suggesting Indy, usually its for the clients own benefits, they know that alone a girl is easy prey for rate negotiations, pushing limits, and also being able to start a personal relationship in which they end up not paying for the same services.
Did you know that 9 out of 10 providers who claim to be Indy are in fact pimped by a significant other? While many believe this is ok, most people arent aware that most of those young ladies afteer working years have very little to show for all of their hard work, as their significant other typicaly exploited both them and their money for personal gain. Consider this, the average provider on eccie charges 200/hr, while many will deny it, they would like to average 3-4 hour long clients per day minimum, so thats an average of 700 per day tax free income, based on only a 5 day week for 20 days per month that would be 14,000 a month income or 172,000 dollars a year tax free. so a provider who works for over 4 years in this business should be able to invest in a long term legit business in which she can support herself for the rest of her life without working. Now how many providers are here who have been doing this 6-8yrs and are Indy? How many have an old used car, crappy house, and small bank account? As i said when I began this rant, the issue is that people answer the Indy/Agency question without seeing the behind the scenes of the industry. Clients typically see the best side, but there is a side that is the real live of the providers here. Remember that when someone asks this question again, how much do you really know about what happens when you leave that incall? how much do you know about where your money goes? On average our firm spends 1800 a week to work a provider, with the cost of airfare, hotels , advertising and other expenses, if we retain 50% then it stands to reason each would profit free and clear over 1800 weekly or we would have been bankrupt years ago. Consider those things when you answer the Indy/Agency question. Again while few firms work as ours does, some do, and to answer the question asked here without taking into consideration the firms who do benefit the providers far beyond what they themselves could ever do on their own, can you really give a fair answer?
Do you know how many young providers are posted on BP today for less than half of what they are worth simply because their rent is due and they have to make enough to pay it? Elves never have those issues. Neither do many other ladies represented by honorable and hard working firms. Be sure to give credit to those few firms who really are a huge benefit to young providers in these many ways. Good points were made by the posters here, both for and against, however they were based on the idea that a firm is simply a pimp with a phone number. While I admit most firms are in fact just that, a few are truely respectable businesses who do put their providers safety and earning first.
Just like the difference between an offical car dealer with a Ford motors sign, vs. a buy here pay here lot in the hood, while both deal in cars, only one wont risk their good hard earned reputation for honest dealings on a single raw rip off deal, Firms in this business are the same.

Be careful when you tell a provider Indy is best, I wonder how many of those 700 were told the same thing by clients. Two very interesting replies, and I agree completely with vicinms. The agencies here in MS (at least on the coast) are ripoffs - I've also experienced that. But I have to question the source of some of the statistics quoted by thegfegirls - 9 of 10 indy ladies are actually pimped? I have found that number to be very different, but that's my experience.
Bottom line, a good agency is a excellent option for some ladies. For others, it isn't. A bad agency, such as those on the MS coast, is never a good option. I have used agencies outside MS and have known a couple agency owners. I am not prejudiced against agencies - only those on the MS coast and their ilk in other places.
Here on the MS coast, the choice is simple - stick with the Indy ladies, especially those who are VPs here on ECCIE.
