So fritz do you have a favorite?
I know they changed the green white checker rule, wonder what else?

Boy that first one was like getting to watch three in one sitting. I had the DVR set up since my day was busy and got to watch the race this morning on my day off. Thankfully I got updates on my phone and could extend my recording time.

I don't know how long I could have watched them repair a pothole, live. It also goes to show why you should always be prepared for anything at a race. It would have sucked to have been there unprepared and have the temperature fall by over 30 degrees from the time they started to the finish.

The funny thing is, the city has been fixing a small pothole in my neighborhood for about a week. Those guys at Daytona sure make the crew the city hired look like amateurs.

I love Nascar. Not many "sports" provide me with such quality nap times.

I really don't have a true favorite. I watch for the results of the Hendrick teams (Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Dale, Jr.), Stewart-Haas (Tony Stewart) and MWR (Michael Waltrip, David Reutimann, Marcus Ambrose and Martin Truex, Jr.). Not really fond of Rowdy Busch, Roush-Fenway or Ganassi-Earnhardt. It's a reliable alternative on Sunday afternoons (because you know that the same drivers will be participating) until the NFL pre-season games start (except for March Madness). You never know who will be playing in golf tournaments from week-to-week, I can't stand the NBA and 90% of the time the NHL game has teams from the east coast playing.

Fritz, sounds like we'd get along good. The NBA has sucked since Larry Byrd retired, PGA has sucked for the last 10-15 years, I'm still not completely sold on hockey, and baseball on TV isn't the same as being there. I do like college basketball, though.

As far as NASCAR, my favorite team has been Hendrick since the late 80's/early 90's with Tim Richmond, Ken Schrader, Terry Labonte, and Jeff Gordon. Though I am ready for someone else to win the Championship. Was wanting Martin last year. I'm not fond of Toyotas being in the series, but don't mind Waltrip's drivers, and I like Speed and Vickers for the Red Bull team. Not a fan of Childress or Harvick, but like Bowyer. Can't stand Roush or Ganassi/Earnhardt. Was a Gibbs fan until they switched to Toyota. I'm a sprint car fan so I have to pull for all the ex-sprint car drivers: Kahne, Stewart, Gordon, Newman, Kyle Busch (something about Kurt turns me off,) Schrader, and Blaney, though Schrader and Blaney didn't make the show. Edwards spent a little time in a sprint, but no way I can pull for anyone that drives for Roush.

I just don't like many of the Eastern Conference teams, which seems to be who NBC has geared its game of the week towards. I'd rather watch the Avs, Ducks, Sharks, Flames or Canucks play.

Good sports discussion gentlemen. I placed a wager in Vegas on the series. Tony, Jimmy, Jeff, Jr.....pretty good odds, with the exception of JJ.

I don't dislike hockey and watch a little more of it all the time. I just don't schedule around it like I do football and racing...lol. Blackhawk's wihte jerseys are probably my favorite all-time sports jersey.

I'd really like to see Gordon get to 7 with Petty and Earnhardt Sr, but damn, he's got to get that elusive #5 first.
An old man rooting on another old man. GO MARK!!! #5. Its time for him to win the cup
The only fav I did not bet on in Vegas, old man's disease I guess!
